When the Ball Drops

Which ball do you drop first?

Hi, everybody. It’s Jasmyne with Relate Family Therapy in Centennial, Colorado. Today I want to discuss what it takes to just let the ball drop. We all get overwhelmed, and we all feel like we have a lot of pressure on our day, but sometimes things get to be too much, and when they do we have that one thing that we let go. What is the first thing that you choose to let drop? For some people, it’s the relationship that they have with friends; for some people it’s work; for some people it’s their diet and health. I don’t know what it is for you, but I do know that there’s something you drop when you feel stressed and overwhelmed. And when you look at that, you can often see what your priorities are and where you are. If you can realign with what you let drop, you can maybe see and be able to reincorporate what it is that helps you feel more balanced. Being balanced is something that can keep us on the right track, even when we are stressed. So, work in that thing that you let drop in order to maintain that balance and have a more active and healthy lifestyle when you maybe don’t feel like doing it. Picking up the phone and calling a friend when you normally wouldn’t in those types of situations or being there for your kids and watching them play a game or being part of something with them when maybe you’re just not up to it can help you feel like you didn’t let the ball drop, and you’ll get back on the right track.
