Starting Over

Give yourself permission to grow, change, and make mistakes along the way.

Hi, it’s Jasmyne with Relate Family Therapy in Centennial. Today I’m going to challenge you to start over. I don’t know what it is in your life that you need to start over, but there is probably something. When you think about starting over, that can be a really daunting, fearful task. People like where they are. They like to stay comfortable. They fear the unknown, and the idea of starting over and having a fresh, new, blank slate might sound good in theory, but in practice is often not met with very good expectations for the future. Starting over doesn’t necessarily mean you start from scratch. It means you start where you are and building on the experiences you’ve already had, but you give yourself permission to not know everything, to not do it perfectly, to not make the same decisions you’ve made in the past. You give yourself permission to not know where things are going to go. That is the type of starting over that I think can really benefit you.
