About Me
Hello! I’m Sarah Prater, an MFT Intern hailing from a charming small town in Ohio. My educational journey includes earning Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Youngstown State University. I’ve carried my small-town roots to the mountains of Colorado, where I’ve been since 2019. Currently, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University while interning at Relate.

Growing up in Cortland, OH, with a close-knit family, I moved to Colorado for my studies. Relate felt like the perfect fit for my internship, offering a variety of therapies.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family, friends, and my pets. I used to be a gymnast, and I enjoy sports like softball and volleyball, plus yoga. I aim to help clients improve their mental health, drawing on my training and experiences, including a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology.

Therapy, to me, is about creating a safe and non-judgmental space. I use collaborative, solution-focused, and narrative therapy to guide personal growth and positive change. In sessions, we’ll build rapport, explore thoughts and emotions, and set goals collaboratively. I’m excited about the opportunity to guide individuals and children/adolescents towards healing and personal development. Let’s embark on this journey together!
