About Me
I grew up in Colorado, spending most of my time in Centennial and Aurora, and also had the unique experience of attending primary school in Sonora, Mexico for a short while. Those cultural experiences shaped my love for diversity and connection.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my partner, family, and friends. I love book club meetings, girls’ nights, and movie marathons with great food. I also enjoy painting, reading, playing board games and video games, and exploring new food spots. I’m a big fan of nature walks, visiting arcades, bowling, and skeeball!
Fun fact: I’ve been working on growing plants and am especially proud of reviving my jalapeño plant, now producing six little jalapeños!
My Background
My career started in the veterinary field, where I worked in customer service for an emergency vet hospital, as a doggy daycare coach, and at a veterinary technician school. My time with animals sparked my interest in grief and loss, leading me to complete a CE course about how animal grief mirrors the human experience. From there, I transitioned into workforce development, partnering with businesses and community organizations to help individuals overcome systemic barriers to employment and build new opportunities. This work deepened my understanding of the importance of mental health support within larger systems.
Through my academic training and professional experiences, I realized how powerful it is to view client concerns through a systemic lens. I’m passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families to help them build strong relationships and navigate challenges together. Eventually, I hope to incorporate animal-assisted therapy into my practice.
My Approach
I approach therapy from a humanistic and person-centered perspective, emphasizing connection, empathy, and creativity in the counseling process. In my recent practicums, I worked with both individuals and families, applying concepts from EFT, Gottman, and PCIT to foster healthier relationships and emotional growth.
For me, therapy is a space for self-discovery, vulnerability, and reflection, balanced with moments of joy and creativity. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I strive to meet clients where they are while helping them move toward meaningful change. I often incorporate activities, games, and creative exercises like drawing or storytelling to make sessions engaging and insightful.
I want clients to leave feeling seen, supported, and empowered to embrace their strengths and resilience. My hope is to provide a safe, judgment-free environment where clients can explore their values, find clarity, and build stronger connections.
