About Me
I have an Associate of Arts & Associate of Science degrees both from San Joaquin Delta College (CA) and a BA Psychology from University of California, Riverside (UCR). I am currently working towards a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy through Alliant International University.
I lived in Japan and China when I was a child from ages 3 to 5 and then moved from Mumbai India to Fremont, CA and the Bay Area and Central Valley for most of my life. I moved to Colorado in 2025 for my husband’s work and to explore a new state together. I love spending time with my family, extended family/in-laws, and friends. I enjoy trying new foods/restaurants, origami, coloring, and reading, working out.
I hope that clients walk away from therapy with a more positive self-image/concept, and I would also like to support them in realizing how resilient they are.
My experience working in a San Francisco crisis facility allowed me to work with some of the most vulnerable populations (people struggling with housing, substance use, gender-related concerns).I learned a lot about how the struggles of certain populations are not individual failures, but systemic ones.
I wanted to pursue MFT because I want to provide support to BIPOC and immigrant communities (as a therapist and educator). I understand that sometimes people are hesitant to seek therapy services because they fear that their culture will be misinterpreted or that no one will understand their experiences.
I have been invested in ensuring that the way that my clients feel heard and accepted is not dependent on their status, but being open and allowing for vulnerability and true transparency for themselves while encouraging advocacy and strength. I wanted to prioritize approaching clients with respect and curiosity and use the therapeutic relationship as a tool.
I really do believe that the therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance. I think that simply having a safe space to explore thoughts/feelings that are scary/uncomfortable can really help clients with their concerns.
I’m very passionate about bringing topics of culture and current events into the conversation, because all of these things impact what we believe about ourselves. I also believe in caring for one’s mind/body, that therapy is a part of that holistic care.
