RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

There are many reasons why a child might have difficulties building relationships with others. There might be trauma that has led them to be distrustful. There might be attachment wounds that need to heal. It could be just too intense of a transition to accept a new sibling, new caregiver, or even new friends at a new school. Although relationships are a natural part of the human experience, that does not always make them easy.

Relate Family Therapy and Counseling can help when it feels like building and maintaining relationships is a monumental task. Often the child just needs somewhere safe to process the transition in their life. Other times the caregiver can be coached on how to enter into the child’s world and join with them more effectively. Whatever the specific needs are, our therapists can help your child find safety and security in relationships again.
