Self Esteem

Everyone wants to feel worthy, adequate, and important. Teens can feel the effects of low self-esteem in their dysregulated emotions, negative thought patterns, and breakdowns in communication with others. Low self-esteem affects their relationships, their body image, and their overall sense of inclusion and significance. While low self-esteem can be related to other issues like anxiety and depression, it can also result in teens engaging in unsafe behaviors in an attempt to feel better, whole, and worthy.
